MINIMUM WAGE - MINIMUM COMMITMENT
Award winning director Ryan Sage bought a script off Craigslist (for a second time) and turned it into one of the year's biggest success stories for indie film. Despite its ultra-low budget, the Temps trailer struck a nerve with audiences and went viral, racking up more than 30 million views. Those views turned to sales and Temps became a chart topping romantic comedy, hitting #1 on iTunes bestseller list in April of 2016 and peaking again in July as a top 5 Indie.
Leading the cast is Grant Rosenmeyer, who recently played opposite Julia Roberts and George Clooney in Jodie Foster’s, ‘Money Monster’. Starring alongside Grant, is Lindsey Shaw (Pretty Little Liars), Reid Ewing (Modern Family), Eden Sher (The Middle) and Chris Bauer (True Blood).
The pic dives into the definitions of modern day love and follows Jefferson (Rosenmeyer), a ski-bum temp worker, whose singular joy comes from an annual excursion to the slopes with fellow vagabond Curtis (Ewing). But when Jefferson falls for Stephanie (Shaw), an ambitious go-getter, he is forced to re-evaluate his priorities. Sher plays Stephanie’s best friend, Amy, while Bauer takes on the role of Jefferson’s father.
The film is co-produced by Grandex, a tech media company who owns and operates the lifestyle websites TotalFratMove, TotalSororityMove, and PostGradProblems. Grandex has been successful creating products that resonate with their audience, including a clothing brand and a New York Times best-selling book. This was their first venture into film.
This is Sage's follow-up to his 2012 award winning debut feature, A Big Love Story. Tim Bennett-Huxtable penned the script. Production is through RKM 29 LLC.
